Dates that decide the pick.
Expiry, best-before, sell-by, production and packaging dates sit on every pallet and carton. Rotation follows the rule each client sets, and an order can demand a minimum remaining life so only qualifying stock is picked. Manufacture receipts default the expiry from the item’s shelf life.
Catchweight in daily use.
Cartons of meat and produce carry their actual weight from receipt to invoice. Picks, replenishments, stock queries and billing all count in units and weigh in kilograms, so the customer is charged for what shipped.
Chilled, frozen and thawback, with holds in one step.
Temperature zones are pick zones, so thawback stock moves and picks as its own population. Hold every pallet of a batch or date range in one step from the screen or your ERP, and see every movement in the audit trail.
One team, from the order to the shuttle.
Our control system directs the pallet shuttles, lifts and conveyors in a live chiller and freezer store. When a lift or one side of the store is down, it switches to a redundancy mode instead of stopping. The site was simulated before go-live and is visible on a wallboard by the pick ports.
Own rules per client, billed by the pallet-day.
Cold-store 3PLs run each client on its own rotation, labels and documents and bill storage by pallet per day, with the charges generated from the receipts and picks that happened.
